THE FROG AFFAIR
This is a whimsical story of “Once upon a time”.
Lilly, the fair Princess, was in search of her “Prince Charming.”
She searched and searched. She traveled all over the world thinking
that she would better her chances to find her Prince. She was exhausted
from all the travel and disappointed. Lilly decided to stop the
traveling and stay at home and work for her kingdom's people. She
worked long and hard and the people were grateful. Lilly felt happy
with herself but the longing for her Prince never went away.
A new day came and with it an invitation to visit her nephew, Lord
Edward. She was excited at the thought to see Lord Edward and his
family so she sent word back that she would accept his invitation.
The next day she packed her luggage and set out to travel to the
Castle of Charles West.
She arrived and it was so good to see Lord Edward and his beautiful
wife, Lady Sarah and their two darling children, how they have grown!
They spent the rest of the day catching up on family news and business
having a wonderful time.
The next day she awoke to the sun spilling its rays on the dew
covered grass making it sparkle like it was a field of diamonds.
The sky was blue with not a cloud in sight. The birds were chirping
and the flowers were swaying in the gentle breeze as if they were
dancing. She could hear the frogs in the distance singing their
melodious song to the golden pond. What a magnificent day! She longed
to be outside. She quickly dressed and ran down the stairs to greet
the family and plan her adventures for the day.
Lilly started to walk towards the pond enjoying the glorious day.
The closer she became to the pond it seemed that the frogs were
calling her name. “Lilly what an imagination you have”,
she scolded herself but still it definitely seemed that way. Lilly
was enchanted. Everything seemed so beautiful and almost magical.
Lilly finally reached the pond and decided to sit under the tree
by the ponds edge where she started to read her book. After a while
she noticed that the music of the frogs was getting louder and more
louder. She set her book down to see what the music was all about
when she noticed a frog hopping her way to greet her. She said “Hello
Mr. Frog how are you doing this beautiful day?” To her amazement
Mr. Frog answered her. “Hello Lilly I have been waiting a
very long time for you.” Lilly could not believe what she
heard. Frogs Do Not Talk! Mr. Frog continued to speak to Lilly and
she was swept up in the magic of the moment. When Mr. Frog asked
Lilly to kiss him she thought again Frog Do Not Talk and will I
get warts if I kiss this frog? But being in an enchanted state of
mind she did indeed kiss the frog! She rubbed her eyes and again
she rubbed her eyes, she couldn't believe what she was seeing! There
standing in front of her was Prince Charming. He was everything
she imagined he would be. Tall and handsome but with very long legs,
but to her he was beautiful. She took a moment to look for Mr. Frog
but then realized that Mr. Frog was indeed her Prince Charming.
Their eyes met and the Prince reached for Lilly, swept her off her
feet and kissed her. All the magic of the moment seemed to intensify.
They knew that they were meant for each other and love blossomed.
When Lilly's family meet her Prince Charming they all commented
on how tall he was and how long his legs were. They started to call
him “Big Daddy Long Legs” in a most loving way.
They were wed in a beautiful candle light ceremony with poinsettia's
abound right before the Christmas Holiday. They now reside in the
Castle of the West Village where they have two beautiful Princesses
both of whom are looking for their Prince Charming and two Princes
both of whom have a family of their own each with a Princess and
Prince, our Grandchildren. Lilly is now called Nana and Big Daddy
is called PawPaw.
WE share our love story with you and sincerely hope that if you
are looking for that love of your life that you too will find your
Prince or Princess.
Regards,
Lilly
